Overview

SEA:LEARN is a regional knowledge platform designed to address a critical challenge in marine and coastal management — the lack of a coordinated and sustainable approach to data and information management. By bringing together datasets, research, tools, and expertise in one place, SEA:LEARN enables stakeholders to access reliable, up-to-date information and make informed decisions. The platform supports governments, researchers, practitioners, and organizations working to protect and sustainably manage marine and coastal ecosystems.

Objectives

Strengthen data standardization and improve long-term data management across the region. Support collaboration between national and regional institutions. Enable reporting aligned with Strategic Action Programmes (SAPs) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Ensure long-term accessibility and sustainability of project knowledge and data.

Governance & Quality Control

SEA:LEARN is led by the Project Coordinating Unit (PCU) of the SCS SAP Project, with support from UNEP, COBSEA, and regional partners. All content and data available on the platform are reviewed and validated by experts to ensure accuracy, reliability, and relevance. This governance structure ensures that SEA:LEARN remains a trusted source of information for regional decision-making and collaboration.
